After a six-hour flight (heck. yes...) from Seattle to Honolulu, we drove into downtown Honolulu to tour 'Iolani Palace. This building is the only royal palace on American soil, and was built by the Hawaiian royal family in 1879. It has a distinctly European feel because the family wanted to show how cultured and worldly they were. It was really fun to see.
| On the palace grounds, this building was once barracks for soldiers |
| Banyan Trees. You can never have enough trunks. |
| Our cute booties we had to wear inside the palace |
| The world's smallest bathtub and shower. All the showers in the palace were very low and the tubs were very skinny. |
| The Justice Building and a statue of King Kamehameha I, who united the Hawaiian islands in 1810. |
Theme Song: Aloha'Oe, Queen Lili'uokalani
