The End Is In Sight

The Third Trimester! I'm so excited to have come this far, but I am really feeling it now. The other day I woke up thinking, "wow. my stomach is really, really big." That feeling of bigness has not gone away. And I'm just going to keep growing...

I'm not enjoying spending every morning feeling sick in the bathroom again. At least most of my second trimester was sickness free. I'm trying to eat non-acid producing foods and I carry antacids at all times, but the heartburn is unreal, and more often than not, it prevents me from keeping down breakfast.

Baby: Baby Boy Davis (as he is affectionately known) weighs in this week at more than two pounds and is blinking through lash-rimmed eyes. His eyesight is improving, he's growing neurons by the billion, and increasing his baby fat layer.

I cannot stress enough how active he is. This boy is definitely his father's child. Dad goes to softball practice, baby spends an hour kicking mom. Dad gets his tennis racquets restrung for his new coaching job, baby does some somersaults and makes mom's stomach jiggle and spasm. Dad preps for the fall hockey season, baby attempts to push his way out through mom's bellybutton. I'm sure he won't slow down at all once he's born either!

Cravings/Aversions: The other day, I ate four peaches in two hours. They were just so good! I am forever running out of fruit. There is never enough in the house. On the flip side, I am less and less interested in meat these days. Peanut butter, yogurt, beans and rice, and the like, are my preferred sources of protein. I feel bad for Will because when I'm menu planning, meals with meat are few and far between. Thankfully, he likes vegetarian meals. What a guy.

I feel like my hair hasn't grown at all since February. The joys of pregnancy.
